Over 3.5 million refugee children have not been able to follow lessons last year academic, a report of UNHCR, United Nations Refugees Agency.
In the report titled “Neglected: The schools of refugees in crisis” are noted that, globally, 91 per cent of children have attended primary school, but for refugees that figure stands at only 61 per cent, while in low income countries at less than 50 per cent.
The report notes that 6.4 million school age refugees between 5 and 17 years of age are under UNHCR mandate.
In 2016, only 2.9 million were enrolled in primary or secondary education. More than half of them, 3.5 million, respectively, have not gone to school”, the UNHCR report says.
