Today, 19 years are filled with the tragic murder of one of the most prominent figures in the history of pluralism and democracy in Albania, Azem Hajdari.
On the night of September 12th 1998, the killers appeared in front of the former Democratic Party headquarters, and there was a squabble of Kalashnikov, killing Hajdari and one of his bodyguards, while seriously injuring another.
But even today after 19 years, although there are convicts of his murder, the event of that September 12th remains a mystery, especially the person who called him and convinced him to leave his office at PD headquarters.
Azem Hajdari was noted for his properties, since the start of the 1990 Student Movement to continue with his political activity, remaining in historical memory as a leader of rare democratic and patriotic values, for which he was given, after his death, even the High Order “Geno Kastriot Skenderbeu” from the president of the Republic.
In the case of 100-Vetor of Independence at Student City in Tirana, his bust was also established.
