188m tonnes of ammunition (Video) are detonated

Over 20 thousand people have been displaced from their homes after a massive explosion at a military depot in Ukraine's Winnitsia region.

The warehouse had about 188m tonnes of ammunition, while weapons have spread to 60 hectares. The ammunition also includes rockets with multiple launch systems such as "Smerch", Uragané, and Grad.

At least 1,000 rescue workers have been involved in evacuation shares.

Over 1,000 firefighters and dozens of rescuers continue to fight flames.

At least two women were injured, who requested medical assistance at the local hospital.

All traffic has been halted in some areas in the Winnitsia region due to the incident, Ukrainian emergency services say.

The fire at a military depot in the town of Kalinovka began shortly before 10:00 local time Tuesday.

“Today, on September 26th, at 21:50, Kalinovski's police department in the Vinnytis region accepted a report of ammunition explosion on the territory of one of the military stations,”, authorities said.
