At least 18 people have lost their lives after an attack on a convoy of security forces north of Sinai, Egyptian health authorities reported.
The Egyptian Interior Ministry reports of several dead people without giving any further details, when a vehicle exploded during the passage of a convoy of security forces to the city of Son al-Abed, north of the peninsula.
“Sulmi occurred on the road connecting Al Qarnaa to Al-Aric while security forces were conducting a cleanup operation in the area. A vehicle entered the motorcade prior to the” explosion, the ministry stressed.
