Tensions between Serbia, Croatia

Serbia and Croatia have recently been involved in another clash that adds to tensions even so high. This time around is a statement by Croatian Prime Minister Plenkovic, during a word on the anniversary of Operation Storm, which has troubled the waters. Plenkovic claimed that the verbal operation prevented a new Serbrenaca in Bihac [...]
Plenkovic said that the operation in question prevented a new Serbrenaca in Bihac and that it destroyed the dream of Greater Serbia. The two countries seem convicted of being divided, as it already has Victory Day, Serbia has Day of Memory, in honour of the Serbs of 2,000 Serbs killed and 200,000 expelled from Croatia.
Serbian Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has asked Croatian authorities to take a clear stand against crimes committed in that offensive rather than celebrate something representing a disaster for Serbs. Reactions have also been conveyed by Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic, under whom Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic speculates, as if Serbs were a conservative population living in Croatia for centuries now constitutes only five per cent. He has called the operation the largest Purge in Europe since World War II. The two countries also face issues of attitude and events of the 1940 ' s.
