Long expectations of Kosovo citizens, in particular at border points, occur each year during the summer season.
The National Centre for Border Management reports that expectations at several border crossings are lasting up to three hours.
The longest expectations according to this centre are at points at the crossings in Merdare, Mutioda and Elu White.
Kosovo authorities had consistently suggested they would take measures to avoid these expectations.
However, these expectations are considered to be almost inevitable due to the great influx of Kosovo citizens living abroad, who during the summer season come on vacation in their homeland.
The Diaspora Ministry say that during this summer season, a large number of Kosovo immigrants' complaints have reached, who have complained about long expectations of crossing border procedures.
The top political adviser at the Ministry of Diaspora in the outgoing Government of Kosovo, Qremeti, tells Radio Free Europe that they are constantly working to inform citizens of expectations, which are eventually across borders.
The “Ankes are permanent, but there are fellow countrymen who contact us before entering the border points. At this season the Ministry of Diaspora raises the level of greater responsibility, and we try to be close to our means of communication and distribute the application link so we can inform fellow countrymen”, Sheremet points out.
It calls on citizens to avoid border points where waits are long and to use other points that are less loaded.
The fact that there's a huge flow of people every time, there will be expectations. We've been working our best at all this time to ask our fellow countrymen to use all the access to Kosovo and Kosovo, to see the app, which the Ministry of Internal Affairs has worked on at our request, to see where the slightest flow is and toʹte use all the possible points and not just that The White Tee and the Merdare”, says Sheremet.
The number of Kosovo citizens living in different countries of Europe and the world who have responded to the census is around 350 thousand, but it is said that this number is much larger and that it is close to 1 million citizens.
The state where Kosovars have mostly emigrated is Germany with 35.25 percent, followed by 22.94 percent.
