The European Union's top representative for foreign policy and security, Federica Moghrini, has said the Balkans are one of the European Union's priorities.
It has estimated that tensions in the Balkans have increased this year, but adding that the EU is ready to make progress on the path of states towards integration into Europe.
This year we have seen tensions in the Balkans increase, in various countries. We had some crises, but partners have always confirmed the readiness and ability to make progress for Balkan countries on the road to the European Union”, Moghrin said.
Moghrin has given even reasons why the Balkans should integrate towards the EU.
Why? Because I believe that their population, young people seek peace. It may be a challenge to work on, especially for reconciliation and better neighbourly relations, but if at the end of the day you seek a way to the EU, we will be able to give you”, she added.
Federica Moghrini has called the Balkans the “Europe”, declaring that both inside and outside the EU has a lot of work.
