That's how Mattis responds to problems with North Korea

US Defence Secretary James Mattis said the US “is never without diplomatic solution” in the North Korean case.

He made these comments at a meeting with the Yugoslav counterpart, Song Young-moo, at the Pentagon.

Comments come after US President Donlad Trump wrote on Twitter that “talks are no response to” for Phenjan's military ambitions.

Russia has also warned the US against the military action company, saying they would have the unpredictable “consequences”.

North Korea has triggered alarm Tuesday, launching a rocket over Japan.

The rocket went over Hokkaido Island before it hit the sea.

North Korea has said this was the first “step of the largest military operation in the Pacific and has repeated threats to the American island of Guam.
