It has been nearly two months since holding general elections in Kosovo, and the country still has no new institutions.
The exhumation is coming as a result of a lack of numbers for selecting the chief parliament and then voting the government from the country's largest political subject, the coalition. PAN (PDK, AAK, NISMA), whose right is based on the constitutional decision to be the first mandate to form the government.
But, European Commission spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic, in a proposal for the Oobserver Journal, has said the Assembly should be constitutionalised as soon as possible, while also calling on political parties to respect the country's Constitution.
“We call on them as soon as possible to constitutionalise parliament, as well as, parliamentary parties to act responsibly by fulfilling their obligations, which are subject to the Constitution and laws in power”, Kocijancic has said.
Kocijancic stresses that Kosovo has no time to lose and that institutions should be formed very quickly.
“We hope in forming the Government of Kosovo. Kosovo has no time to lose “, the European Commission's spokeswoman for the Oobserver Journal has indicated.
The EC spokeswoman has counted and new obligations awaiting the new Government, which she considers essential on Kosovo's road towards EU integration.
We expect the new government to immediately be engaged in reforms involving law enforcement and the economy, expectations for visa liberalisation and constructive engagement in Dialogue with Serbia. All of this is essential for Kosovo to produce advances on its European path”, Kocijancic has declared.
The Winning Coalition of Elections PDK- AAK-NISMA has not attended today's session, called by the chairman of the session, Adem Mikulovci, for the institution of the Parliament's organs, while other parties expect PAN to change the candidate for Speaker of the Parliament.
