KMDLNJ requires unlocking the situation, or extraordinary elections

KMDLNJ through a media communiqué has called on political parties in Kosovo to unblock the situation created for the establishment of the country's institutions, otherwise proposing going to extraordinary elections.

Reminding that the parliamentary forces report is equal to 60 and when neither side has the parliamentary majority, the KMDLNJ finds that political stalemate has been created, while according to the 2014 Constitutional Court interpretation, it is said that the winning pre-election coalition or winning subject has the only right to propose the Parliament's chairman.

KMDLNJ stresses that non-participation in constitutional sessions is unacceptable, as they seriously damage citizens' interest, so it calls on Kosovo Assembly deputies to participate in the continuation of the constitutional session on August 24th in order to fulfil the constitutional obligation.

“The unblocking should be done with a political agreement, regardless of who will be parties to the agreement. Coalition The PAN, as the winner of the last elections, belongs to the Speaker of the Assembly and the first attempt at forming the government, which does not mean that the process can drag on indefinitely as if the LV and LAA should be clear that no action can be taken towards forming the government without electing the governing bodies of the Assembly and using blackmail as a political tool to prevent the election of the governing bodies of the Assembly by blocking other <x1) processes, the communique says.

Moreover KMDLNJ considers that Kosovo President Hashim Thaci should give a deadline no more than a week to reach a reconciliation for the formation of institutions, on the contrary must split the Assembly by declaring extraordinary elections.

Some political subjects, the political stalemate they themselves have created, are misusing to provoke new elections. It is the constitutional responsibility of the president of Kosovo to interrupt this dishonest game of political subjects by offering solutions”, the communique is said to be next.

The KMDLNJ also requires that after the formation of functional institutions, all appointments and dismissals in executive positions or other high positions are revised “the qualifications<x1 political establishment and professionalism that should be the fundamental criterion for appointment or dismissal.

The KMDLNJ calls on Kosovo deputies to contribute to unblocking the situation and the quick functioning of institutions, on the contrary they will bear responsibility for the institutional deadlock.
