The 41-year-old Ukrainian via a communique on his official page announced the retirement decision, cancelling a new duel with Anthony Joshua in November.
This decision shocked the world of boxing, and after Klitschko's official page fell from the great influx of visitors, the boxer himself published a video on YouTube explaining the reasons for his escape from boxing and emotionally inviting fans on his new tour.
“27 years ago I started my journey in sports, the best decision I could ever make. Because of this choice, I traveled all over the world, learned new languages, created businesses, built intellectual property, and helped people in need”.
I became a scientist, an entrepreneur, a coach, a modator, an investor, and I did many other things because of the global renomes that I received from boxing, my talent, and more because of you, my loyal fans”.
Sometimes, at some point in life, we have to be willing to change the direction of life and start a new chapter, with new challenges. Of course, I'm not an exception. Now it's my turn. I'm doing this with the utmost respect to new challenges, but also with passion, commitment, expectation and hope that my future career that I've been planning for will be at least as successful as my previous career, if not more successful”, photographing the Telegraph.
Finally, instead of just saying thank you and goodbye. I want you to join me on this journey, where we're both more creative, more efficient, more creative and stronger. Together, we are the driving force”, Klitschko has stated in his communication with the video audience.
Klitschko lost his last duel in April of this year to Anthony Joshua in an epic battle, which was planned to repeat in November, but Ukrainian thought hard and decided to end his fantastic career.
