Explosion during morning prayer at a mosque in Minnesota

The chief of police in Bloomington, Jeff Pots, said prosecutors have launched investigations to find the cause of the explosion at the centre of the Muslim community, Dar al Faruk.

Police reported that the blast occurred around 5:05 local time.

Assad Zaman, executive director of the Muslim-American Society in Minnesota, said at a news conference that the explosion occurred during morning prayer.

The explosion occurred in the imam office. In this case a window is broken. Zaman said he suspects the bomb was thrown into the office through the window.

He has announced that a $10,000 prize for information on the incident has been offered.
