During the match's comment, HRT commentator Stjepan Baclo among others said the time has passed when we recognised Albanians as ice cream vendors and live-transmitting sweets.
But, Indexline has received the answer of Croatian commentator who has said his phrase has been misunderstood and that he apologises to Albanians.
I've got hundreds of thousands of messages after the match and that I owe him to answer. A news release in Croatian media has distorted my words, which were delivered to Albanian media as well. I have never wanted or wanted to humiliate the Albanian people.
My words were distorted in the media because they had different meanings. With that statement I wanted to say that Albanians made great progress in sports, especially football. The Croatian journalist published only part of my words and the whole sentence.
However, I apologised to all the Albanian people if I have hurt your feelings. That's not my purpose and it'll never be. I believe the Croatian and Albanian people are strong friends” have said Stjepan Baclog for Indexline.
