At least 30 people are being sought by rescue teams, who fear they might be caught inside a collapsed building in Mumbai, India. Local reports quoted by the BBC say a three-story building in India's financial capital was rocked early Thursday.
“2 persons are believed to be stuck inside and a 43-member team is conducting rescue operations”, an official from India's National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) told AFP.
Mumbai has registered numerous rainfalls this week and floods.
The building in the densely populated Bhendi Pazari area is believed to be about 100 years old.
Construction incidents are not rare in India, especially during the musons season because of poor construction standards.
In July, 17 people were killed when a four-story building collapsed in the suburb of Mumbai in Ghatkopar.
