As Macedonian media report, Leka has been Macedonia's biggest criminal, when it comes to women's trafficking.

Former American ambassador to Macedonia even called the country's best-known “citykeeper”.

American authorities, like Interpol, were involved in investigating the activities of the mob boss. They were mostly performed in Veles, a village near Struga.

He was reportedly killed because of revenge, since his son and brother were involved in multiple murders. Witnesses say the bomber shot him in the head, got on the bike, and left.

Women's auction

It is said that it organized auctions for the sale of women until 2006. It's about young women who were either kidnapped or deceived. Boyko was the main leader of two major women's trafficking routes from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine.

One of these roads passed through Bulgaria, the other passed through Albania. Both roads crossed the village of Veles. Local media say that between 200 and 250 women were sold daily in this small village.

Leka kept the 20 most beautiful. It offered customers the bar “Express” After the girls worked for him several months, he allegedly sold them to Kosovo. More than three thousand women sold:

Official Macedonian police statistics stress that Boyko has trafficked at least 3,000 women.

In 2002 he was arrested and sentenced to prison. But thanks to good connections, he fled to Montenegro. In 2003 he was sentenced to four years in prostitution.

After serving this, he allegedly engaged in the tourist industry with legitimate business. /Como.at
