The hackers that penetrated the business networks of American energy and nuclear companies in recent weeks worked for the Russian government, according to an article in the newspaper “The Washington Post”.
The newspaper reported Saturday evening that unidentified US government officials confirmed the massacres were working for the Russian government.
Officials told the newspaper “The Washington Post” that the motive is not clear, given that the operations of affected companies were not terminated.
However, an American official said he viewed cyber attacks as “a tracking effort” to identify how it could penetrate the company. “So do all those who want to cause damage to cyber attacks”, the official said.
Attacks on company administrative and business systems were confirmed last week, when the Energy Department said it was helping firms protect themselves from interference. / VOA/
