US President Donald Trump has said Washington will work with France and its partners in the plan for the post-war period in Syria and Iraq to strengthen the victory against Islamic State militants in the city of Mosul.
Speaking at a media conference together with French President Emmanuel Macron, Trump has said he and Macro have agreed to co-operate closely in efforts to end the six-year conflict in Syria.
He has said Washington and Paris will work together to fight the Islamic State militants, which he has called <x0 enemy of the unit”.
“We have agreed to continue working together on meeting a plan for the post-war period”, in Iraq and Syria, Macron has said.
Trump and Macro have also been asked about the White House's decision to evacuate the US from the Kliman Agreement.
Trump has said both will discuss the issue at dinner, not specifically talking about the possibility of any agreement between the two countries.
If any deal occurs, it would be fantastic”. But even if it doesn't happen, we're back in line.”
Trump's visit to Paris is linked to the marking of France's largest party, Bastille Day.
