Until 2015, police registered 25 murders, and last year 26, only in the January-April period of this year, according to law enforcement, 13 murders have occurred.

In February of this year, one person was killed in Pec, another injured. In March another murder occurred in Pec.

The murder took place after January-April this year.

Ermal Camberaj, manager of a local in Mitrovica, was killed in May, while the locals of this town were closed at funeral time to protest this murder.

In 2015 there were 147 unsolved and accepted criminal charges. A total of 266 people were involved in these unresolved and accepted confessions.

In 2016 unresolved and accepted criminal charges reached 120, while 210 people were involved.

Last year prosecutors filed 58 counts of murder, while courts convicted those involved in 33 charges.

Courts in 2016 released the accused three times, and four times they reaffirmed the charges.

In the January-April 2017, agreed and unresolved criminal charges of murder were 79, with 139 people involved.

At this time, 27 charges have been filed, while the defendants have been convicted in nine cases, and four rejective judgments have been taken.

The ombudsman institution has been asked whether there are complaints by citizens about the work of the justice system regarding the killings that take place.

spokeswoman at this institution Majlinda Sinani-Lulaj said the ombudsman does not share complaints reached in criminal and civil nature subjects.

The people's “Avolcan can provide general recommendations for the functioning of the judicial system. The ombudsman will not intervene in cases and other legal procedures that are under way before the courts, unless there is procrastination of procedures”, Majlinda Sinani-Llaj said, showing that this institution respects the independence of the courts.
