A cleaning woman from Guangdong, China, has taken a newborn baby and taken her to a hospital, having found her in the middle of a container's garbage.

The newborn was still bound by the umbilical cord while it was wrapped in nylon bags.

It is reported that it was found in the early hours of the morning, while investigations are under way as to who her mother is believed to be born somewhere nearby.

After being treated by doctors in an incubator, the child enjoys good health.
