“U n SS Thunderbolt” opened fire only after trying to warn Iranians via radio, shooting machine guns, officials said. Warning shots were fired in the direction of the Iranian ship, outside of concerns of a possible crash, Russia Today” reported, broadcast Periscopi.
The Iranian ship had been contacted within 150 yards (137m) and halted its provocative actions, following warning shots from the American naval ship, American officials reported.
