As the newspaper “Blic” writes, Serbia has formed the task force, which consists of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the so-called Office for Kosovo.
Sources of this Serbian newspaper say it is in serious question that the issue is not discussed in September.
The decision on the agenda is made just before the general assembly”, the newspaper's source said.
The general assembly theme is established by the Interpol executive body, which consists of a smaller number of member states.
The source of “Blic”, close to the processing group, says that even if this topic is on the agenda in Beijing, it does not mean that Kosovo will become part of Interpol.
The paper writes that two-thirds of the votes are needed for Interpol membership and that Serbia has great confidence in the lobbiing of China and Russia to prevent Kosovo's membership in Interpol.
Otherwise, Kosovo's application for membership in Interpol is expected to be on the agenda at the general assembly session of this organisation, which will be held in September in Beijing.
186 states are in Interpol.
