The U.S. Geological Institute confirmed that a 7.8 magnitude earthquake was recorded in the Bering Sea. The episode was west of Atua, the westernst and largest island in this region of Russia.
The U.S. geology Institute has warned earlier about the tsunami and the danger in the area of about 300 miles [300 km] from the quake's epicentre, but the warning after a short time after the earthquake withdrew.
After the first earthquake, another magnitude earthquake over 5 was recorded.
