Decani Mayor Rasim Selamana has resigned from the post after choosing to continue to be an MP in the Kosovo Assembly.
He has said he has chosen to resign today, although there have been various interpretations that the mandate of the mayor of the municipality ends on the Day of Certificate as deputy or the day of oath at the constitutional session.
Selmanaj, who has made this news known through a post in his Facebook account, has indicated that during this time, the mayor's duty will be carried out by Komuna Deputy Chairman Sami Cacaj.
This is Rasim Selmanaj's full post:
Amid interpretations that the president's mandate ends on the day of the extradition as MP or the day of the oath at the constitutional session of the Republic of Kosovo Parliament, from today I resign from the post of head of the Decani municipality!
The president's duty by law will be carried out by Mr. Chairman. Sami Cacaj a man witnessed and devoted throughout his life to the freedom and state of Kosovo!
Thank you Decan!
Let's go together.
