Pristina municipality rewards two new mathematicians

The wait was realized by the director of the Education Directorate, Arberie Nagavci, school principals, educators, and schoolmates.

In this international-level race, where almost all the countries of the world participated, there were two students from the Pristina municipality, Shend Zjeqi and Alban Elez, who dignifiedly represented the Republic of Kosovo.

Shend Zjeqi, a student of the Mathematics School in Pristina, after the extraordinary skills and competencies shown at the Kosovo Mathematics Olympics at the municipality and at the republic level, managed to triumph even at the international level, winning the Bronx Medal at the International Math Olympics (ONM).

The education directorate for the establishment and improvement of quality in education consistently organises different competitions at the municipality level. Also, in the function of developing quality improvement in education, the Directorate of Education in co-operation with the Association of Mathematics, each year they organise the event “Olympia Mathematics”, at the municipality level and Republika Republic, which is pointing out math talents.

As Pristina's Community reports, the Directorate of Education from the start of Mathematics School operation in 2014 has faced great difficulties and challenges because the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology has still not shared the budget for the performance of this high school.

Despite the many challenges the Education Directorate has managed to overcome any challenge presented at the Mathematics Gymnasium, covering and providing with internal staff and conditions necessary for the operation of this institution, providing a process of teaching and quality teaching according to contemporary standards.

For the results achieved in the International Mathematics Olympics, a special thanks goes to teachers for their precious contribution and the Kosovo Math Association.

For their achievements, Shend Dzjeqi was rewarded with the 500-euro prize, meanwhile, Alban Elezi with 200 euros.
