In 2015, Officer Jody Thompson of the United States responded to a call for child abuse when he was leaving work.
Although not on time, Thompson had experience with child abuse cases.
But he would never have thought that the child he rescued would one day become his son, broadcast the Express newspaper.
Speaking of CBS News, Thompson said:
I've investigated cases of child abuse before. I thought I'd better go and answer”.
After he got to the stage, Thompson was shocked to see that 8-year-old was badly injured. There was no place in his body that had no marks. It was the worst thing I've ever seen”, he said.
After covering the boy, Thompson took him to the Oklahoma Children's Center so detectives took pictures of abuse.
Shortly thereafter, Thompson sent her to the hospital and waited for her all day. From then on, he realized that he wants to take care of him for the rest of his life.
I sat with him and when he was admitted to the intensive care unit, I sat down all night until the next day”, he said.
The next day, Thompson contacted children's services and was certified as his parent. He and the boy later went to his home, and the policeman's gesture touched the hearts of many on social networks.
