The first to formalise the candidacy was former DP chairman Edward Salay, who declared the decision made to be part of the race for the DP, also doing the race registration process. After Selam, another Democrat Astrit Sinanaj, DP member in the town of Fier, announced on his website on the social Facebook network that he would compete for the DP.
This was the third official candidate registered as part of the race to take over the leader of the DP. The third official candidate in the race is Erion Piciri, who yesterday officially announced that he has declared the candidate for the DP leader and has done so.
Yesterday, Democrat Astrit Pattozi officially declared an exit from the blue headquarters declaring the candidacy for the leader of the DP and openly challenged the current chief Democrat, Lulzim Basha, saying he is ready to face him in an equal race. The former chairman also counted the conditions for Basha and the race in the DP, demanding once again the extension of the date set for holding elections. According to the DP decision, elections under the principle of one member will be held on July 22nd.
