A bag American astronaut Neil Armstrong used to collect the first samples from the moon was sold at an auction in New York for $1.8 million.
The briefcase from Apollo 11, 1969, was purchased by an anonymous bidder at the Sotheby auction house.
There is still dust from the moon and small stones in the bag.
The auction is organised on the 48th anniversary of man's first arrival on the moon. /rel/
