Kadare shows how Erdogan said that “Kosovo is Turkey”

Besides topics about his past and the Albanian state in the time of communism, he has also spoken about Kosovo and a statement by Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan when he said that “Kosovo is Turkey”.

In this conversation, Kadare says to have heard that statement, but he did not believe his eyes when he read it.

“Ismail Kadare has placed Albania on the world literature map. Today he speculates about Erdogan's statement to Kosovo”.

Wellt: A few years ago, Turkish President Erdogan called Kosovo "Turkey"?

Kadare: I remember that statement. I can only say that I could not believe my eyes when I read it.

We remember that Erdogan had made this statement during his visit to Kosovo in 2013, when Kosovo said “is Turkey and Turkey is Kosovo”.
