Hoxhaj in Italy: Balkan economic development precondition for integration

Kosovo Foreign Affairs Minister Enver Hoxhaj is staying in Italy, where he is participating in the summit of Western Balkan countries with numerous leaders from the region and Europe in Trieste, the ministerial statement announces.
Co-operation among the countries of the region in the political and economic plan, as well as plans that will affect the region's economic development as preconditions for integration into the European Union, have been discussed during this summit.
“During the Trieste summit has been the main topic of regional co-operation in the political agenda among the countries of the region, better economic co-operation has been discussed between economies and societies in the region. Likewise, concrete projects that will affect the region's economic development, which is a prerequisite for EU integration”, Hoxhaj has declared.
He at the margin of the Trieste summit has met counterparts from the region, as well as held meetings with Commissioner for Enlargement Johannes Hahn, Grand Britain Foreign Policy Secretary Boris Johnson, and Austria's Foreign Affairs Minister Sebastian Kurz.
Hoxhaj has participated in the Civil Society Forum, organised in margins at the Trieste Summit, where he has stressed the important role of civil society on the road to Balkan states towards EU integration.
