An earthquake of tsunami type struck the Greek islands on Friday morning, damaging many residential objects and a port. At least two people are reported killed and more than 100 injured. The island of Kos was the worst hit by the quake, causing the deaths of two people as well as numerous building damage.

The other “island parties are not too affected by the earthquake. Only the main city has been more affected by the” earthquake, Kos Mayor Giorgos Kyritisis said of Greek state media. The old “Objectors were the most affected by earthquake”, Kyritiss added.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Rescue teams have arrived at the scene, saving people who are trapped in their homes.

Kyritisis also said the army was mobilised together with emergency services, British medium “Metro” broadcast Periscope.

Greek officials said the quake was 6.5. Its focus was six miles south of Turkey's Bodrum and 10 miles to the very birth of Kos.

On the other hand, Turkish officials indicated that the quake had a size of 6.4 and more than 20 earthquakes were recorded.
