Mimoza Kusari-Lila, Shpend Ahmeti, Agim Bahtiri and Rasim Selmanaj challenged themselves by demanding the sovereign vote in the June 11th elections, which only Bahtiri managed to get enough to become an MP, writes Indexline.
Gjakova's first, Kusari-Lila and Decani's Rasim Selmanaj, after counting votes, resigned from the leadership of relevant municipalities to continue with the MP's position.
Selmanaj, despite the warning of resignation, continues to leave the office to carry out his duties as chairman. He confirmed this himself for Indexline.
“The CEC has demanded that we choose between the post of mayor of the municipality and MP. I am scheduled to continue as an MP, but until the day I swear as deputy of the Republic of Kosovo I will continue to go out to my office. So, I'm the president until I officially become MP”, Selmanaj said.
Resignment from the municipality has also given the head of Gjakova, Mimoza Kusari-Lila, but still she continues to exercise her position as head until she is formalised as deputy.
The head of the Information Office in the Gjakova municipality, Abetare Domi, has told of Indescsonline that the chairman continues to go out to her office and does the jobs she has done so far.
“The chair is already working, and until the constitution, I will continue to exercise the position of”, Dom said.
