Basha launches campaign for party chairman: Join Democrats Wherever You Are

Lulzim Basha has started his tour of cities today to convince membership to vote for party chairman. The first station, he had it today in Kavaja, in the municipality where the Democrats won local elections.

The chapter of the DP's driver, expected to merge on July 22nd, was “reunification”. That's after the great division. The DP with MPs' lists and the loss of the June 25th general elections. He said Kavaja is a lesson for all Democrats about how unity brings victory.

It is time to take responsibility, Basha said, and to learn from what happened in Kavaja, where the unification of all Democrats brought the mayoral victory despite crime and dirty drug money.
The only force that remained, the only force that showed moral strength, the only force that showed commitment, the only force that didn't buy any votes, which offered no money and no favour for the vote, who didn't use crime and gangs, the only force that offered Albanians the prospect of exit from the crisis, the only force with a plan to get Albania out of the economic crisis, the only force with schedule, the only force that has morality to continue and win this battle is the Democratic Party of Albania.

I'm not just here to congratulate you, nor to take just your applause because this is the time to take on my responsibilities. It's time to take all my responsibilities for all my decision-making, to judge with you, did we do everything we could? Did we or did we not stand firmly in the causes that we believed in, in the fair causes of Albanians; with derimination, the fight against drugs, the struggle for an uncapacity and politically untainted justice; and the struggle for free and fair elections? And if so, let us not consider this an end to a battle, but as in 1991, the station to the next battle, the final battle to bring down this regime once and for all. And to restore Albanians' hope instead of fear.

For us, throughout the country, like Kavaja, at municipal levels and polling stations, this is the lesson. Where the Democrats joined as they all joined under the direction of Isa Saka, everyone with no absence, without exception, without a heartbreak, wherever this happened, gangs and millions of drugs and corruption made no accusations. They were able to influence him but not reverse the outcome. And this is my teaching and calling today, not as a candidate, but as a Democrat. Join Democrats wherever you are, put aside your feet. It is not time to see what we received from the Democratic Party, but the same as in 1991 is the time to see what we can give to the Democratic Party and to Albania and democracy”, Lulzim Basha said.
