Apostolova has an order for future government officials

The head of the EU Office in Kosovo, Natalia Apostolova, has said today that following the Certificate of the results of the June 11th elections, it is now in the responsibility of political leaders to listen to their citizens and form a stable government that will serve the interests of the people. Remembering that Kosovo faces many challenges, ranging from high unemployment and the low performance education system to corruption and weak rule of law, Apostolova has stressed that it is important for political leaders to take these challenges seriously, form a strong government and launch reforms that the people seek.
“E congratulates the people of Kosovo on the prosperity of the elections, which were held on June 11th and the Central Election Commission on the professional way they carried out their duties. I also call on institutions responsible to take seriously the recommendations of the EU Mission for Election Observation and to implement them in the right manner”, the Apostolova statement said.
Apostolova has stressed that Federica Moghrini, chief of European diplomacy, this week has held an informal meeting with the president of Serbia and Kosovo, and that, according to her, once again reconfirms the EU's commitment to Kosovo and Serbia's EU prospects, where implementation is expected without delay of agreements reached during the dialogue.
“The EU will continue to help Kosovo citizens. Through a Stabilisation and Association Agreement and related instruments, the EU has provided a political, economic and legislative framework for reforms to be released. Through IPA support, the EU provides generous financial assistance to support these efforts and to increase improvements throughout Kosovo. No matter who forms the new government, the EU expects a acceleration and implementation of the EU agenda for reforms. Kosovo has a clear European perspective. Kosovo's people expect a responsible leadership that will make significant progress along the European road. Now it is up to those leaders to do this”, Apostolova has said.
