Albanians prefer Turkish coast

As tourism thrives in Albania and revenues have grown and conditions have improved, Albanian citizens still prefer Turkey as their main destination for summer holidays, although Greek islands have also begun to lure younger Albanians who want to spend their summer holidays abroad, reports [...]
According to Tirana International Airport data about summer flights in 2016, about 41,000 Albanians conducted charter flights to the Aegean Sea in Turkey that year, while operators see the trend remain the same during 2017, albinfo.ch conveys.
Relatively low prices are an important factor for Albanians, one of the poorest countries in Europe. Tens of tourist agencies offer 1-week packages from 350 euros per person to 1,000 euros for a five-star hotel. Children, depending on their age, pay half the price or even accompany their parents for free.
Tourist agents in Albania also mention Spain and Portugal as the most popular destinations for Albanians during the summer. However, the lack of direct flights from Albania with these countries remains an obstacle.
