Will Albanian become official language in Macedonia?

The law for official use of the Albanian language should be comprehensive and once and for all eliminate various interpretations that have been promoted during its use in the past, complicating the issue even more about whether Albanian is official and in which institutions can be used.

Thus, they assess connoisseurs of judicial matters by commenting on Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev's warning that until before local elections in the autumn the Law for the use of languages, which is also among the main challenges of the new government taking into account the debates and tensions prior to its formation, precisely because of the Albanian language.

Prime Minister Zoran Zaev said the law does not jeopardise any community in the country and that the solution that will be adopted will be in line with international conventions.

And one thing is certain, the government will surely pass the law before the local elections... and by this nobody loses anything, because in line with European conventions, everyone has the right to equality in this society. I so transparent and happyly present things because we all have the right to equal life, all of us have the right to feel this Macedonia as our own, and in terms of rights and obligations to the state. The legal solution is already being prepared at the Ministry of Justice and I believe that soon it will be passed on for debate in Government, and we will proceed to the Venice Commission and to the Assembly”, the prime minister said, Zoran Zaev.

On the other hand, Mersel Bilall believes the solution will be under definition of political parties' statement, since only in this way can the clashes between its signatory political parties be eliminated, that this controversial problem has been resolved or since Macedonia's independence.

I think that roughly the solution will be within the declaration, and it is good for this solution to happen because it would eventually consume material that the political manipulants of different tanks detonate”, Bilall says.

On the other hand, party V MRO- The DPMNE, whose supporters protested for more than two months against the Albanian parties' statement, which otherwise calls it the “Platform of Tirana”, has recently softened positions, saying the party is not against Albanian and that he wants to have a new positive approach towards Albanians.
