Thus, potato and onions producers have been disturbed and asked by the Ministry of Trade and Industry to intervene to solve this problem.
Lulzim Krasniqi from the Ministry of Trade and Industry has said in Klan Kosova that they hope very soon to solve this problem.
“A delegation of potato and onions producers have expressed concern over several tariff barriers caused by the customs of Albania's republic. It is about the price that has been raised for these products, Kosovo producers are obliged to pay an additional four-center price from the base price”, Krasniqi has said.
We have a regional agreement, CEFTA, and we also have agreements with Albania to facilitate trade, and we consider this barrier to be contrary to these” agreements.
Krasniqi has indicated that they have already contacted Albania's organs and is optimistic that everything will be adjusted on time.
“Producers are close to extracting their export production to Albania, but we are optimistic that we will solve this problem and continue trade”.
“Trade reports with Albania are extremely good and co-operation is excellent, such barriers may at times present, but we are here and will take steps for any eventual barrier that can be presented.
