Clement Zguri from the Central Election Commission said official preliminary results show the Socialists won 48% of the vote, or 74 seats in Albania's Parliament with 140 MPs.
The opposition Democratic Party won 29%, or 43 parliamentary seats, while the Socialist Movement for Integration came in third, winning 14% of the vote and 19 MPs.
