Shkelzen Hasani, sentenced to 20 years in prison for murder, confessed to KTV how he managed to shut his mouth to go on hunger strike.
He stayed for six days with his mouth sewn inside the cell, in protest of not offering his weekend vacation permit.
The removal of the pens took place the day before, after being promised permission to rest.
He says he was discriminated against by other prisoners after being asked for trust and reconciliation by the family, who was killed by a family member.
This convicted of murder by Peja says corruption prevails in Dubrava prison even to get holiday permits at the weekend.
He says if you don't have money you can't go on vacation. On the other hand, the Kosovo Correcting Service has denied the accusations.
The reason for this prisoner's failure to rest is only because of security reasons, after committing murder for revenge, officials say.
