The Ministry of Labour and Social Management has earmarked some 405 thousand euros in pensions for those who work or earn pension revenues during 2016.
These findings were made public in the 2016 audit office.
“We have found that there are cases of benefits of pensions from persons who work or achieve pension revenues. There are improvements, mainly in Trepca's pension schemes and social aid, in the preceding year. As long as there's an increase in checks to avoid payments on people who don't belong to you by law, especially in the veterans' category”, it says the audit office report.
The benefits of pensions and social aid from employed persons are contrary to the law, as well as causing irregular payments and budget damage”, the report says.
The ministry must ensure further strengthening of internal controls, with the aim of cleaning up lists so that employed persons do not benefit pensions they do not. Systemic comparisons of beneficiary lists with information received from ATK must be made prior to the execution of payments”, said further in the report.
The audit office has also found that the state of Kosovo has paid over 115 thousand euros in pensions for dead persons. /Insider. com
