Police have classified death as suspicious, as the first investigations point to suicide. 38-year-old businessman Yavuz Yilmaz, according to news agency “IHA”, reportedly ending his life with his father's gun, “Smith Wesson” According to sources from police, the testimony of four people, drivers, bodyguards and two Yilmaz employees has been received.
The former Turkish prime minister and his wife were on a visit to the US when they received the ominous news and have returned to Istanbul urgently.
Yilmaz was found lifeless in his bed, shot in the head with a bullet. The workers said Yilmaz had spent the night alone.
According to Turkish Interior Minister Sulejman Soylu, the event took place about 09 a.m. 70-year-old Mesut Yilmaz has served three times as Turkey's prime minister between 1991-1999.
