Kosovo President Hashim Thaci said the ambassadors had gone to the office to ask for clarification on the KLA's OVL initiative to abolish the Special Court, following the attempt to quickly pass the law that would abolish this court last Friday in the Kosovo Assembly.
Thaci said the ambassadors have said the president cannot launch legal initiatives, but can neither curb the will of MPs, writes Periscopi.
They came to my office and requested clarification. I accepted and we talked. I've shown it very clearly that I cannot curb the will of the deputies. Systems are separate. I can't intervene in justice, nor in Parliament, but not in executives. I have confirmed to the ambassadors that any decision of mine is constitutional and legal,”, Thaci said. /Periscopi/
