The National Food Authority (AKU) has blocked the activity of 123 subjects this month and fined 139 other units that traded outside sanitation conditions.
To ensure food safety in the country's markets in the days of last-year holidays, when and the flow of food purchases is extremely high, AQU Director-General Agim Ismaili has ordered “For intensifying inspections at food business operators” with the main focus of products considered by risk.
According to information from the AK's regional directors, it turns out that in Tirana, Durres, Fieri, Gjirokastra, Shkodra, Korca and Berat are sequentising amounts of meat products and fish traded outside hygieno-sanitary conditions. In Berat announces the AK, they've seized and dough products, while in Shkodra an amount of tobacco has been confiscated, resulting outside consumer standards.
National AKU has conducted a total of 921 inspections in meat trading subjects, fish, chaff, supermarkets, margins, refrigerators, pastries, fast food, restaurants.
For violations and irregularities outlined in the implementation of the food security law, The AK has warned 219 subjects while blocking 27589 tonnes of meat and products, 0.357 tonnes of fish, 0.17 tonnes of milk products, 0.1437 tonnes of tobacco, 2,6622 tonnes of dough /Uthul products, lemon juice, nuts, and 0.04 tonnes of potato.
THE ACH appealed to citizens to buy meat food, fish, chaff, and eggs, only in markets that meet sanitation conditions and refrigerator standards.
At the same time, the AUK urges citizens to report every case the abuse of commercials, producers or importers of food products.
