A Pentagon report Wednesday found that the US has 2,000 troops in Syria four times as many as officials had publicly accepted, it was a delayed confirmation of the troop numbers the Pentagon had quoted earlier.
Pentagon spokesman Colonel Rob Manning, who announced the new number, said troop numbers are now on the decline in Syria.
Manning also said there are about 5,200 troops in Iraq./Periscope.
