Reasons That took Albin Kurti into custody

An interesting battle has been held at the Pristina court in discussion about the detention move against MP Albin Kurti and MP Donika Kadaj Buyupi.

Callo.com was present at the time the discussions were held between the Hedije Ademi lawyer and MP Kurti.

The discussion has begun when Albin Kurti's lawyer, Hadije Ademi, asked the court to stop defending her detention measures, promising that Albin Kurti would respect all the court's calls for trial in the future.

At that moment, Albin Kurti, indignant by his lawyer, reacts by asking her “not to promise on his behalf”.

The request for the removal of the detention measure also proposed to the court the lawyer of Caday-Bujupi, Africa Salihu. The same argued the request, saying that “no longer exists circumstances in determining the detention measure” and that the role of Donika Cadaj-Bujupi as deputy is to “represent citizens' interests and not stay in custody”.

Also interesting has been prosecutor Valdet Gashi's move, which has not requested Kurti's detention.

I don't have any concrete proposals and let the court decide on this case.

However, the chairman of the court, Judge Becir Kaluldra, decided to refuse the request of defence attorneys for the removal of the detention measure.

Judge Calluldra reasoned on the court's decision with the reason that “there are still reasons for setting the detention measure”.

At last session the same jury had refused to be released from the detention of Caday-Bujupi's Kurti.

The trial against the deputies of the Vetevendosje Movement will continue on December 29th, with the hearing of the final word of the prosecution, defence lawyers and indictees.

In the process long held that the investigation into the trial of Kurt has testified to deptiti Andmen Zemaj, while the testimony of Kadri Wessel has not been given after the prosecutor has quit.
