President Thaci continues to label a democratic request for a break-up, says we're breaking up with America.

Kosovo President Hashim Thaci calls the Kosovo deputies' request to change the ruling for the Special Court completely democratic, while if this court were to be broken by the Parliament, he said it would sign without hesitation. In the interview given RTK's, Thaci said lawmakers' demands should be seen as a democratic alternative in the face of major failures and failure to fulfil pledges by the international community in relations with Kosovo.

This is the initiative that should not be dramatized or underestimated. The initiative of about 50 MPs is fully legal that does not challenge justice, but requires an alternative and should be seen in the most serious, responsible level, not by party prism or anyone's ego, said President Thaci.

He reiterated that the establishment of this court has been historically unjust to Kosovo, but said local institutions have sacrificed because of international pledges that they will support Kosovo. President said international pledges have been for stronger support for membership in U NESTO, in the Council of Europe, in Interpol for the establishment of FAK and for new recognitions, including recognition of Kosovo by the five EU sides.

“This did not happen and that any decision of the Parliament would sign”, Thaci said, voicing confidence that a decision by the Parliament would not affect Kosovo's friendship with internationals and especially with the US, as trumpeted by media and analysts.

According to him, one procedural aspect does not shake relations with the United States.

“A procedural decision cannot undermine permanent friendship with the US”, Thaci said.

The president said the fair fight of the KLA should unite the local political spectrum despite ideological differences, because “nobody should be in Kosovo's antihistoric processes”.

The president in this interview also spoke to the EULEX mission, which he said Kosovo is always grateful for the contribution it has given, but said the moment has come that this mission of hosting tasks has come.

“EULEX has done a good job even though there have been concessions and scandals. But Kosovo institutions have also matured in justice and must take on their own responsibilities and I believe that they can direct justice even better than some other states, he said.

As for dialogue with Serbia, he is optimistic that he will end by 2018. In the first weeks of January, according to him, to begin pre-preparative talks on talks with Belgrade, while voicing optimism that a group of unity for the final phase of the talks will be signed.

“Dialogue and reaching the agreement contributes to stability, but any dialogue will lose meaning if Serbia does not recognise Kosovo, or if Kosovo does not become part of the UN”, Thaci said.

The most encouraging point of the process for next year, according to the president, is the demarcation with Montenegro, which Thaci expressed optimistic that in January it could be approved.

Otherwise, President Thaci recently recognises successfully the following year, which he said has gone through with many positive developments in the consolidation and statehood of Kosovo in all spheres.

“We have held two sets of elections that have all been welcomed, there have been concessions, but generally has been the year of gradual success to move forward in all spheres of political, institutional, democratic, economic and development. This year we have the arrival of the largest international investors, including investments of over 1.3 billion euros in energy”, Thaci said.

He also mentioned the coming year as a normal year to fulfill the remaining vows of this year.
