US President Donald Trump will recognise Jerusalem the capital of Israel, administration officials have announced.
He is expected to make this decision public during Wednesday day. Trump is also expected to move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, but this process will take place within the next few years.
Israel has welcomed the decision, while Palestine and Arab countries have warned that this decision could destroy the peace process in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Pope Francescu has called for respect for the status quo. Until the dialogue can be reached only if the rights of all people are respected, he said, broadcasts Kosovas.
Saudi Arabia, a US ally, called the new policy “a flagrant provocation to Muslims”.
