“Praying when our father begins is not a good translation”, the Pope said in a TV interview Wednesday evening, as mentioned by “Radio Vatican”.
The pope greeted the Catholic Church in France, which earlier decided to use the expression “mos to be born into temptation”. Something similar should be applied worldwide, the priest suggested. The French Catholic Church approved the new translation earlier in December.
It's not [God] who throws me into temptation and then looks at me falling into it... God helps us get up”, Francis added, reports “RT” Transmission Periscope. “It is Satan who leads you into temptation”, he said.
The prayer, which millions of Christians teach as children, is part of Christian liturgy culture. He is said to be written in Aramaic, which is considered by many historians to be the tongue of Jesus. The original text was not preserved but is contained in Greek and Latin translations.
Pope Francis, born in Argentina, has become very popular for his open speeches. Chosen in 2013, he announced a new era for the Vatican./Periscopi/
