Earlier, the accused Arton Ahmeti had admitted guilt. The three are part of the group of 9 people to whom an indictment was filed in April this year, under suspicion of planning terrorist attacks in November last year during the football match between Albania and Israel.
In the autumn of last year, Kosovo police in co-operation with Albania police arrested 19 people under suspicion of links to the militant Islamic state group and planning to attack in Albania, but also in Kosovo.
Police said the arrests prevented terrorist attacks in the football match between Albania and Israel that should be held in Shkodra and then moved to the town of Elbasan.
According to the indictment, 4 of the accused “in order to seriously intimidate the population, destabilise and destroy the fundamental political, constitutional, economic and social structures of Balkan states and then on their territory to create Islamic State, have deliberately responded to the call of terrorist organisation I SIS defendants Lavdrim Muhaxhier, in order to carry out a terrorist work, so that after the same through regular contacts with defendant V.I., via the internet, this defendant has been calling on to carry out the terrorist attack against players and fans from Israel who were due to come to Albania, in the town of Shkodra, to hold the football match between Albania's teams and Israel on November 12, 2016<x1.
The indictment reportedly said that two defendants -- “during the month's October 2016 -- under the request of indictee Lavdrim Mujarır -- have prepared terrorist attacks in Kosovo, so that, according to the agreement, they are planning to make the terrorist attack international assassinations or security institutions”.
In the spring of this year, family members and police authorities said Lavdrim Mujajeri was killed in Syria.
Two of the accused are charged with supply and containment of explosive devices seized during the raids. One is accused of deliberately taking part in the terrorist group's activity, in a way that on November 1, 2013, was launched by Pristina Airport and landed at “Airport. Sabiha Gockchen” in Istanbul, Turkey and then illegally moved from Turkey to Syria, where it was attached to the group of Albanians fighting in the ranks of the terrorist organisation Al Nusra, actively participating in the activities of this organisation for two weeks, and on November 17, 2013, from Syria has again passed through Turkey and via Istanbul has come to Pristina”.
Since the beginning of the conflict in Syria, about 317 Kosovo citizens are believed to be involved in conflicts in the Middle East. About 120 yards have been broken from there, largely disappointed with what they've faced.
Some 200 people have been arrested or investigated, and over 50 have been convicted so far of involvement in wars in the Middle East inciting and recruiting fighters. Approximate official figures speak of 140 people from Kosovo, of whom 75 fighters and 38 women and 27 children, in the Middle East even further. About 60 people have lost their lives in the Middle East. / VoA
