The actions of Kosovo's political and institutional leaders have shown that they have no understanding of the international community's positions, concerning issues that are assessed significantly in bilateral reports, they estimate connoisseurs of political developments in Kosovo.
According to them, the border demarcation issue with Montenegro, as well as the attempt to send Kosovo's Parliament deputies to the parliament, the proposal for abolishing the Specialised Chambers and the Special Prosecutor's Office, which is known as the Special Court for War Crimes in Kosovo, has prompted the most nervous actions of Kosovo leaders and which go against developing good relations with other states, particularly with the friendly countries for Kosovo.
Politologist Ramush Tahiri, speaking of Radio Free Europe, says recent events have made the impression in the opinion that Kosovo's leaders, due to personal or tribal interests, are not responsible as head of state, as well as the obligations they have made to the international community.
As he says, there are very few situations when ambassadors of friendly countries come out with an official attitude, against the stance, which in this case the Government has or against the decision that the Parliament can eventually make.
It is a fact that we are sovereign and independent states, as well as a fact that we follow democratic procedures. However, it is also a fact that through democratic procedures you cannot bring about any decision that is anti-democratic or any decision that goes against Kosovo's goals, but also with the goals of maintaining friendship with the states that have helped Kosovo, as well as with obligations, against the international community, which Kosovo has made to”, Tahiri says.
Ismajl Hasani, a connoisseur of political developments, tells Radio Free Europe that the cooling of reports between international factors and Kosovo leadership has sporadically started before recent events were developed, with statements that have not been in the spirit of normal development that could have a society.
But what we saw last week was the culmination of these attempts to undo what has been hard created by the people of Kosovo, by international friends. Kosovo's joint project with the international community has been seriously jeopardised, particularly by our allies from the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany and other states that have made sense for Kosovo freedom”, Hasani estimates.
But have the reports damaged with international friends, the behaviour and actions of Kosovo political and institutional leaders, and could the Kosovo state itself result in consequences?
Politologist Tahiri expresses the view that this will be reflected in the short and long term.
In the short term, nothing has been produced, because no decision has been made, with all the effort. In the long-term sense, it shows the character of Kosovo's governance and of the people who are in charge of leadership and questions whether we are stable international partners or not, regardless of the current legitimacy that they may have created through the” vote.
Meanwhile, Hasani estimates that the international community, particularly Kosovo's friends, has lost confidence in the country's current leadership. In view of this, according to him, it would be better for Kosovo that this leadership is no longer on the country's political scene, but holding early elections for now would be a dangerous move. Consequently, even restoring trust in friendly countries remains problematic, he says.
The “that these are remembered and that the international factor does not forgive, because their investment is too large, that is not discussed. It's the issue, then, how this corresponds, with a shift of attention from Kosovo, with a freeze of Kosovo's advance, with a freeze of advanced integration processes in the European Union, the visa liberalisation process, which has already been far removed, as well as the Euro-Atlantic integrations, for which it has long been trumpeted”.
However, after two attempts, on Friday, to send the proposal for the abolition of the Special Court to the Kosovo Assembly for voting, the reactions of Quint countries' ambassadors to Kosovo have been quite severe.
The ambassador of the United States of America to Kosovo, Greg Delawi, has described this action as <x0... the insistence of the knife behind the back for America”.
Meanwhile, the ambassador of Great Britain, Ruairi O'Connell, has named Friday evening, as the most dangerous “andent for Kosovo since the end of the” war.
