The Republic of Albania is facing an extremely bad weather, and most of Albania's cities in various parts have flooded. There are also hundreds of evacuees and are reported to have died as a result of an accident caused by these conditions.
The Albanian state has committed all mechanisms to cope with this situation, including the police and the military.
In this state of emergency Albania has yet to accept any assistance from the neighbouring state of Kosovo.
Klan Kosova has contacted Arber Vladhiun, Kosovo Government spokesman and prime minister's adviser, Ramush Haradinaj, but has said that on this issue we address the Kosovo Ministry of Forces and Security.
From the MSF they have shown, through some written answers, that they have not received any requests from the government, or any other party to take measures, but that if they are required they have capacities and they are willing to do so.
The Ministry for the Kosovo Security Force has received no request from the Government of Albania, no decision on commitment from the Government of Kosovo, no order from R President. Kosovo's commitment to assist the Government of the Republic of Albania with the case of flooding as a consequence of atmospheric rainfall” has confirmed to Klan Kosovo, Remzie Zeqiray, public relations officer at the KSF ministry.
“The Ministry for the Kosovo Security Force confirms readiness for support with the necessary capacities, should it be located in the highest state bodies of the Republic of Kosovo, following reviewing the eventual demand by the Government of the Republic of Albania. So far no invitation has reached the MFSK”.
The Republic of Kosovo in the past had helped friendly states in need even without asking for any help from those states, or even when aid has been purely symbolic.
One case is that of the 100,000-euro aid the Kosovo government had made a decision to split for the United States of America.
That was when Harvey storm hit Houston in Texas. Storms that had left behind many victims and material damage of hundreds of millions of dollars.
The aid had come at the request of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci for the Kosovo government.
The request that was surprisingly made on Facebook.
